Learning About Sikhism

As a Church of England school, we are proud to place Christian values at the heart of everything we do. Part of living out those values is helping our children understand and respect people of all faiths and backgrounds.

In Religious Education, we learn about Sikhism to help pupils appreciate the rich diversity of our world and recognise the shared values that unite us, such as kindness, service, and equality. Learning about other faiths encourages empathy, respect, and open-mindedness — qualities that reflect our Christian teaching to “love your neighbour as yourself.”

We are also fortunate to have a Sikh member of staff in our school community, who provides a personal insight into Sikh beliefs and traditions, helping our children see how faith can inspire positive living. Through this learning, we prepare our pupils to become thoughtful, caring citizens in today’s multicultural world.
